Collingwood may settle Finlay Macrae into a wing role next season, he was selected at pick 19 in the 2020 AFL Draft.
Macrae averaged 16.9 Disposals in the 2019 NAB League, he also averaged 12.0 Uncontested Possessions.Â
Macrae joins the Magpies at 186cm & 78kg, he’ll likely put on a bit of weight in his first pre-season at the Magpies.
With Josh Daicos & Steele Sidebottom likely to start on a wing for the majority of next season Macrae may need another avenue to push his way into the team, with his ball winning ability on the outside a debut should be on the radar at some stage in 2021.Â

“Finlay can play both inside & outside, probably more suited at this particular time to the wing.” Magpies National Recruiting Manager Derek Hine.Â

AFL FANTASY TAKE
The landing position from a fantasy perspective for Macrae is ideal under Collingwood senior coach Nathan Buckley, the Magpies averaged 323.6 Disposals in the 2020 H&A season (Rank 1).
A debut for Macrae is quite possible in 2021, it will be important to track his progress in the pre-season.
Collingwood did move on regulars Adam Treloar, Tom Phillips & Jaidyn Stephenson in the recent trade period which will open up opportunities, Macrae is certainly one that if he progresses well over the next few months could force his way into the team.Â

Macrae is a wait & see during the pre-season for a potential early debut & will be a genuine target when that has been confirmed in AFL Fantasy classic, he’s likely a pass in 10 team standard draft leagues.Â
Macrae should be a target in dynasty/keeper leagues.Â
