Fantasy: The role for Tanner Bruhn in 2021

Tanner Bruhn will look to establish his position in the midfield at the Giants in 2021, he was selected at pick 12 in the 2020 AFL Draft.

Bruhn averaged 17.0 Disposals in the 2019 NAB League, he also averaged 12.0 contested possessions.

The Giants have excellent depth through the midfield, Bruhn will certainly add to that depth as early as next season.

Bruhn is a high contested ball winner, the challenge for Giants senior coach Leon Cameron will be to find a spot inside that midfield that already includes the likes of Callan Ward, Jacob Hopper & Tom Green as contested ball winners to compliment the class of others such as Stephen Coniglio, Josh Kelly & Tim Taranto.

Tanner Bruhn is an elite contested ball winning midfielder, the problem he faces next season is outstanding depth ahead of him in the GWS midfield.

Under Giants coach Leon Cameron 1st year players are commonly made to earn their position in the team, which from a fantasy perspective creates uncertainty for short term & consistent job security.

Bruhn may need to establish himself in a half – forward/back position early in his AFL career if the Giants are fully healthy in the midfield, from there hopefully the midfield usage can increase.

For such an elite talent Bruhn may need to be a wait & see closer to the season to confirm his role & job security in AFL Fantasy classic, he’s a very late round draft sleeper in 10 team standard draft leagues & a potential waiver selection throughout 2021.

Bruhn should be a very high priority in dynasty/keeper leagues.
