There is further clarity on the role for Michael Walters this season, late last year he was moved into a more forward role which reduced his midfield usage.
Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir indicated on Wednesday via Sportsday Walters would again play a more forward role in 2021
“Walters will spend a bit more time forward as he did towards the second half of last year,”
“His last 4 games of the year were really good down forward.” Justin Longmuir.

Longmuir added he would likely play two key forwards to compliment the midfield/forward rotations with the reduced interchange cap this season, the role Nat Fyfe would play moving forward is also likely to assist the forward line.
“I’m pretty keen to trial just the 2 (key) forwards then get some rotations through the midfield” Longmuir.

Walters averaged 73.1pts from 14 games in 2020, he scored a season high 105pts against Brisbane in Round 2.
The fantasy scoring rate declined for Walters in the second half last year, the loss of usage through the midfield contributed along with the inability of Fremantle to hit the scoreboard.

Unfortunately with Walters playing more of a forward role again this year the scoring could be volatile, he is likely to attract a fair bit of attention from opposition teams in order to shut him down.
Half-forward roles can also be a volatile scoring position in fantasy.
Walters is a pass in AFL Fantasy classic to begin the season, keep an eye on his salary & any potential change in role throughout the season.
Walters likely slides further down draft boards in 10 team standard draft leagues.
