McHenry spoke with Sportsday SA last week & elaborated on his preferred role when asked.
“Hopefully long term I’m a midfielder,”
The “midfield is my primary position & I want to be a midfielder.”
“But obviously at the moment playing more half-forward & kind of a small forward role,”
“I want to do a mix of the pre-season with both the mids & the forwards,”
“And make sure I get a good mix of that throughout the pre-season & hopefully hold me in good stead to play multiple positions going forward.” McHenry said.
McHenry averaged 12.3 Disposals, 2.6 Marks & 3.1 Tackles from 21 games in 2021.

McHenry is a pass in season long fantasy at Round 1, it’s worth keeping an eye on his role throughout pre-season to see if he can crack a midfield rotation or two.
His scoring output is unlikely to be consistent with a small forward role.
He’s also a pass in single season draft leagues.
