North Melbourne National Recruiting Manager Mark Finnigan provided insight post-draft into what Curtis will bring to the team.
“He brings genuine X-factor to the front half which will complement what we already have in that area of the ground.
“Offensively he is very dangerous, regularly hitting the scoreboard or setting up teammates. Paul is an opportunistic type forward making him a dangerous match-up. He kicks goals in multiple ways.”
“In 2021 he made significant improvements in his defensive pressure averaging three tackles inside 50.”
“We see Paul as a really exciting prospect long-term who can fill a list need for us.” Finnigan said.

2022 AFL Fantasy: Matthew Roberts
Curtis averaged 12.1 Disposals, 3.7 Marks, 3.7 Tackles & 2.0 Goals from 7 games in the NAB League in 2021.
Fantasy Impact: Paul Curtis will provide a dynamic option to the Nth Melbourne forward line, he has a high ability to hit targets & can hit the scoreboard.
He’s currently at a good body size entering the AFL system, he has excellent breakaway speed & finds the right spot around contests as a small elusive forward.
The short term fantasy prospects for Curtis could be moderate only, he needs time to develop into a role that doesn’t provide a high/consistent scoring output.
The longer term prospects are likely better, a move further up the ground is a possibility to utilise his skills entering inside forward 50. If he remains in a small forward type role then his scoring output is likely limited & inconsistent.
Curtis is likely a pass at Round 1 in season long fantasy, the Kangaroos are still progressing through a rebuild which may present opportunities in 2022 but keep in mind the scoring output & the potential for a short burst only at AFL level.
He’s a pass in single season draft leagues, he’s a late speculative option in dynasty leagues.
