Michael Walters has provided an update on his role for the 2022 season, he will again be playing as a forward.
Walters said last week he expects playing time in the midfield at stages during games, but predominately he will be playing as a forward.
“My role is going to be the same”
“I’m a leader down there in the forward line, I love to play in the forward line.”

“But I will also be moving up into the midfield at stages throughout games.”
“The majority of it is going to be forward, whenever the boys need a bit of a flip there’s no doubt I will be going into the midfield at times.” Walters said on Sportsday WA last week.
He averaged 13.9 Disposals, 3.9 Disposals, 2.0 Tackles & 0.9 Goals from 16 games in 2021.

Fantasy Impact: Michael Walters averaged 61.5pts from 16 games in 2021, he scored a season high 99pts in Round 10 against Sydney.
The scoring output for Walters is likely to remain volatile in a majority forward type role, if injuries did impact the Dockers in 2022 then he would be an option to move further up the ground.
The Dockers have solid midfield depth despite the loss of Adam Cerra in the off-season.

Walters is a pass in season long fantasy with his current forward role, it’s still worth monitoring time spent in the midfield early on in the season.
He’s likely now a late round speculative option in single season draft leagues, the scoring has dried up since moving out of the midfield.
