There has been an update on the progress of Matt Crouch, he has recently joined in full contact training.
Crouch missed the entire 2021 AFL season due to a groin concern, he underwent surgery in October.
Luke Brown acknowledged the return to contact training this week, he provided a little insight for what it means to have such an important team player back on the track.
“He’s had a frustrating couple of years really with injury.”
“He’s just loving being back out there with the guys,”
“He’s positive, he’s really buzzing.” Brown said.
AFL News on Twitter @aflratings “As long as he gets through the
next few weeks, should expect good things from him.”
At the start of pre-season Adelaide senior coach Matthew Nicks confirmed Crouch would return to training in the near future.
“Matt is expected return to train & be nearly back to full training, he’s definitely pre-Round 1, but we’ve got a little bit up our sleeve.. so that we don’t need to push & force that.” Nicks said.
Crouch averaged 26.1 Disposals, 2.8 Marks & 4.6 Tackles from 16 games in 2020 (16 Min Qtrs).

So far so good from a fantasy perspective for Crouch, but he will still be a touch behind full training loads over the entire pre-season.
Crouch is expected to return to the midfield when he returns to play, expect strong centre bounce usage.
Crouch is a consideration based on his Round 1 starting salary in season long fantasy, he should exceed value based on his historical scoring output.
He likely remains behind premium mid options in single season draft leagues.
For both formats, the remainder of pre-season for Crouch almost has to be uninterrupted.
