Carlton Update: Charlie Curnow

Charlie Curnow is progressing well ahead of the 2022 H&A season.

Impacted by injuries over the last 3 years the 25 year old Carlton key forward has so far completed a full pre-season.

Carlton Head of Football Brad Lloyd provided the latest update on Curnow via SEN today.

“He’s in great shape,”

“Look we probably could have played him a fraction earlier last year but he was held back and it was a fairly conservative approach just to get him really right.”

“He was held back but played those last few games which really setup his pre-season,”

AFL News on Twitter @aflratings “He’s had a full pre-season and moving around beautifully.”

“He’s bouncing around and ready to go Charlie.” Lloyd said.

Lloyd also confirmed that Mitch McGovern had trained in defence over pre-season as “that third tall”.

AFL FANTASY NEWS

Fantasy Impact: Charlie Curnow has completed a full pre-season, when he has played 20 or more games within a season he averaged 73.9pts in 2018 & 71.2pts in 2017.

The news is good for Curnow heading into the 2022 season, there is quiet optimism at this stage he can return to somewhere near his best form.

As a key forward his scoring is likely to remain volatile, he will have opportunities to produce strong numbers in favourable match-ups.

Curnow is a consideration for season long fantasy at Round 1, his current salary offers pretty good value but his scoring volatility and injury history has to be acknowledged.

It’s worth moving him up a few places in your single season draft boards.
