St Kilda Update: Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera

St Kilda senior coach Brett Ratten is very excited with the outlook for Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera.

Selected at pick 11 in the 2021 AFL Draft Wanganeen-Milera bruised his knee and recovered from Covid in hist first pre-season.

Talking on SEN this week Ratten tried to put a lid on his excitement but his thoughts should provide high optimism on the 2022 season prospects for Wanganeen-Milera as well as his long term prospects.

“We’ve gone fairly slow but he’s been introduced to training now,”

AFL News on Twitter @aflratings “He’s a beautiful mover, he kicks the ball
like he’d be in the top couple with kicking skills at our football club, he’s a beautiful kick.”

“It’s hard not to get excited when you look at him, I don’t want to build him up too much but he’s still developing.”

“But his movement qualities and the way he uses the ball is outstanding and I’m really waiting to see his development over time, but it is for Saints supporters he’s a bit of that class we need to find Max (King) and a few other forwards down there so the delivery is perfect inside 50 and he does bring that.”

GAME DAY LIVE on Twitter @aflratings_Live “It does allow us to play Nasiah up
around that wing and even at half-forward at times just to bring the ball into our front 50
because we do have some other kickers behind the ball.”

“He’s got an attribute that will be rated very highly in the competition, but he’s only a young man but he’ll play some games whether it’s this year, he’s really going well.” Ratten Said.

AFL FANTASY NEWS

Fantasy Impact: Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera is on track to play in 2022, how early will be largely dependant on his development in the final few weeks before Round 1.

He averaged 15.5 Disposals, 4.0 Marks & 1.4 Tackles from 11 games in the SANFL reserves in 2021.

The role across half-forward/wing would be ideal in his first year and should provide opportunities to showcase his elite skills.

Wanganeen-Milera would be a consideration in season long fantasy when he makes his AFL debut, he is likely to exceed value and provide a decent return if he can maintain his position in the team.

He’s likely a late round speculative option in single season draft leagues.
