Jade Gresham is an integral part of the St Kilda team according to senior coach Brett Ratten.
Gresham went down early at Round 3 in the 2021 season with an Achilles injury and did not return.
He continues to build his training loads throughout pre-season with a view to returning in Round 1 of the 2022 H&A season.
Speaking on SEN this week Ratten emphasised the importance Gresham to the team.
“Gresham is the X factor for our team,”

“He’s done everything that he can to get ready.”
“He’s progressing really well.”
“He should play against, we’ve got Carlton the following week and he’ll play against them and just keep building towards Essendon then Round 1.” Ratten said.
When asked about the specific role for Gresham this year Ratten gave a pretty straight forward answer.

forward/midfield.” he said.
Fantasy Impact: Jade Gresham averaged 101.pts prior to his season ending injury in 2021, he was used at 52.8% of centre bounces over the same period but Brad Crouch was unavailable at the same time.
It is likely to be a predominantly forward type role for Gresham with a sprinkling of midfield usage.
Scoring could be volatile at times throughout the year.

Gresham is a consideration in season long fantasy at Round 1, his salary could be considered value but without a majority midfield role the ROI might be limited.
It’s worth holding Gresham at his expected ADP in single season draft leagues.
