Caleb Serong provided his thoughts on any type of tagging role in the 2022 AFL season.
He hopes with the emergence of a midfield group that includes a mix of experience and youth that he can set about playing freely within the midfield structure at Fremantle.
When asked specifically if he would like to play a tagging role this year on Sportsday this week Serong answered “I hope not”.

“I’m really enjoying kind of being part of a midfield where I guess with Dave (Mundy) and Andy (Brayshaw) and the young guys coming through that hopefully I can just play my role that’s not require tagging.” Serong said.

Fantasy Impact: Caleb Serong averaged 82.4pts from 22 games in 2021, this included an average of 117.0pts from his final 3 games of the year.
Entering his third year in the AFL system Serong should have a solid fitness base behind him to run pretty much full time in the Fremantle midfield.
He was ranked No.1 at the Dockers for centre bounces in 2021 with a usage rate of 71.4%, he is expected to be used through the midfield at a high rate in 2022.

Serong is a consideration for season long fantasy at Round 1, there is upside scoring potential based on his starting salary.
It’s worth being ahead of expected ADP in single season draft leagues.
