Nth Melbourne Training Report

Rehab/Limited training group: Zac Fisher, Taylor Goad, Luke McDonald. 

All three players completed a running session on the main oval while match simulation was taking place. 

Bigoa Nyuon limped from the ground after a contest and was assessed for a right foot concern, he returned shortly after without issue. 

Tristan Xerri did not participate.

Match simulation was a definitive best group against the rest which included VFL players. 

Warming up before match simulation (Best team only):

Defenders – Colby McKercher, Josh Goater, Miller Bergman, Bailey Scott, Bigoa Nyuon, Kallan Dawson.

Mids – Harry Sheezel, George Wardlaw, Dylan Stephens, Luke Davies-Uniacke, Darcy Tucker, Jy Simpkin, Charlie Lazzaro.

Forwards – Cam Zurhaar, Paul Curtis, Jaidyn Stephenson, Zane Duursma, Nick Larkey.

Match Simulation: 

Starting centre bounce mids (Best team) – Luke Davies-Uniacke, Jy Simpkin, George Wardlaw, Callum Coleman-Jones. 

Charlie Lazzaro was used at centre bounce and stoppage situations. Cam Zurhaar was also used at centre bounce and stoppage situations.

Harry Sheezel started on the bench and was mostly used across half-back early. He did move up to be part of stoppages at times. 

Will Phillips and Tom Powell were on the opposing team as inside mids. Powell was a standout throughout match simulation. 

Colby McKercher started in defence (Best team) along with Bailey Scott, Miller Bergman, Josh Goater, Bigoa Nyuon and Kallan Dawson. 

McKercher and Sheezel were placed in the middle of the ground behind the ball in general play when the ball was pressed inside F50. McKercher at times wanted to be the deepest player behind the ball in these situations. 

Brayden George started across half-back in the opposing team against Zane Duursma (HF). 

Jy Simpkin did spend time inside F50 at times.
