AFL Week 1 Finals Team Changes

SYDNEY

AFLRATINGS Fantasy Notes:  Several key players return for the Swans this week including Isaac Heeney, Tom Papley and Justin McInerney, Taylor Adams has not been named. Expect Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner and James Rowbottom to be the main 3 at centre bounces, Errol Gulden will likely start more on the outside this week after being used at 63.6% of team centre bounces in Round 24. James Jordon may be used to target a half-back type for the Giants. The Swans averaged 97.5pts in the H&A season (Rank 1), they have a -11.4 average contested possession differential from their last 8 games (Season: -3.2).

AFLRATINGS Fantasy Notes: Still no Toby Bedford for the Giants this week, Lachie Ash returns from suspension while Brent Daniels and Isaac Cumming return to the team. The Giants may target Isaac Heeney or Chad Warner at stoppage situations, Callan Ward is an option to be used in that role with Bedford not available. Senior coach Adam Kingsley stated during the week that Finn Callaghan was fine after receiving a knock in Round 24, Kieren Briggs has been dealing with a shoulder injury the last few weeks of the H&A season. The Giants conceded an average of 10.5 marks inside D50 in the H&A season (Rank 2), they conceded an average of 73.4 uncontested marks over the same period (Rank 2). 

BRISBANE

Key players missing: Darragh Joyce, Harry Sharp, Darcy Fort, Jarryd Lyons, Darcy Gardiner, Lincoln McCarthy, Tom Doedee, Keidean Coleman.

AFLRATINGS Fantasy Notes: Jack Payne and Brandon Starcevich return to the team this week. The centre bounce rotation has been settled for most of the season at Brisbane, expect Lachie Neale, Hugh McCluggage and Josh Dunkley to be the main 3 used at centre bounces, Jarrod Berry may be an option to target Patrick Cripps. The Lions recorded a +9.7 average contested possession differential in the H&A season (Rank 1), they averaged 13.2 marks inside F50 this season (Rank Eq.3).

AFLRATINGS Fantasy Notes: Still no Charlie Curnow for the Blues while Harry McKay does return to the team, Sam Docherty is returning from an ACL sustained earlier this season while Tom DeKoning also returns from injury. Expect George Hewett to run with Lachie Neale through the midfield, Tom De Koning may spend more time forward with Pittonet still in the team. The Blues averaged 96.0 uncontested marks from their last 4 games (Season Ave: 80.8), they recorded a +6.2 average contested possession differential in the H&A season (Rank 2).
