We are set for another thrilling Brownlow count on Monday night.
It will be dominated by mids with the odd error from umpires sprinkled throughout the count, it’s a unique system that no doubt has critics but ultimately most footy fans watch for the drama it provides.
Throughout the 2024 season @aflratingsPete has allocated votes for each game, this year Patrick Cripps received the most projected votes with 36. Nick Daicos was awarded 34 votes for second and Isaac Heeney 31 votes for third.
Brownlow Medal Form Guide – 2024 Final Projected Votes
Favourites
Patrick Cripps: He will finish strong with multiple 3-vote games between rounds 15-24.
Nick Daicos: It should be a slow start for Daicos but once Round 6 hits he will likely receive votes in most games to finish the season.
Lachie Neale: Brisbane started the season slowly which could impact Neale early, between rounds 13-24 expect him to receive maximum votes in the majority of games he played. If Neale starts the count well then do not be surprised if he wins another Brownlow Medal.
Marcus Bontempelli: It was an outstanding season from Bontempelli but he’ll be competing with fellow Bulldog Adam Treloar for maximum votes throughout the season.
Early rounds
Isaac Heeney: Heeney is ineligible to win this year after being suspended throughout the season, he’ll likely lead for most of the count. Based on projected votes Cripps won’t catch Heeney until Round 18 while Nick Daicos will surpass Heeney at Round 20.
What to look for
If AFL CEO Andrew Dillon announces Collingwood votes prior to Carlton votes in Round 24 then Patrick Cripps may just win a second Brownlow Medal.
