AFLRATINGS NEWS: Change is coming at Sydney under new senior coach Dean Cox.Â
Taking over from John Longmire recently Cox has indicated several changes for the upcoming season.Â

He stated this week that the Swans will focus on being a defensive team with an ability to create turnovers.Â
Cox also added that their contest method needs work although that was a strength in 2024.
Another area Cox wants improvement is the flexibility of players to play multiple roles.Â

One such change already on the training track is Tom McCartin spending time forward, Cox said he wants to give McCartin looks ahead of the ball.Â
Cox also indicated several changes across all lines of the team including mids, forwards and defenders.Â
Sydney averaged 97.5pts per game in the 2024 H&A season (Rank1), they conceded 76.9pts per game (Rank 7).Â
