Bailey Smith Role

AFLRATINGS NEWS: There has been an update on the role for Bailey Smith this season. 

Earlier in the pre-season Patrick Dangerfield referred to Bailey Smith playing an inside midfield role in his first year at Geelong.

Speaking on Thursday Geelong assistant coach Steven King said that Smith will play inside midfield, wing and as a forward as part of a midfield rotation this year and that Smith will assist in ball transition. 

King added that Smith has been unrestricted at training for several weeks now and is still adjusting to a variety of roles in a new system.  

Smith was sidelined in 2024 due to a ruptured ACL, he was traded from the Bulldogs during the recent trade period.
