Jason Johannisen is set for an extended recovery time after injuring his ankle at training on Friday morning, the injury has been described as low grade syndesmosis (via @Stevo7AFL).
Johannisen faces a 4-6 week recovery, the timeline puts a season opener against Sydney at Marvel Stadium on March 23 in doubt.
Bet Lab: 2019 Rising Star Award
Johannisen averaged 21.1 Disposals last season for the Bulldogs, he has played in 97.7% of games since the beginning of the 2017 H&A season.

AFL FANTASY TAKE
Since the 2016 season in which he averaged 95.4pts (Incl. Finals) the fantasy production from Johannisen has been underwhelming, he scored fewer than 80pts in 63.6% of games in 2018.

The new kick-in rule will likely contribute to an increase in output for Jahannisen in 2019, he led the Bulldogs taking 53 kick-ins (22.9% of team) last season.
The injury is poor timing for Johannisen, he will highly likely miss both JLT Series games which won’t give us a first hand look at the Bulldogs set-up with JJ.
