St Kilda midfielder Jade Gresham injured his right knee in Round 1 on Sunday, the injury has been diagnosed as a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL).

Saints coach Brett Ratten stated in his post-game press conference on Sunday that Gresham “wouldn’t be playing for a few weeks”.

Further updates on the availability for a Gresham return are unknown at this stage, St Kilda will likely provide an update when available.

AFL FANTASY TAKE

If the AFL returns in early June then Gresham would likely be questionable at best, due to the unavailability for rehabilitation to be completed at any club in the short term does present a different risk of not returning to full fitness.

Gresham is a significant part of the midfield rotation at the Saints, his absence would allow for increased usage for several players which may even include condensing the amount of players at CBA’s in shortened games.
