2021 Fantasy: Round 12 Top 5 Trade Targets Under $300K

Round 12 of the 2021 H&A season begins on Friday night, @aflratingsPete ranks the Top 5 Trade Targets Under $300K in AFL Fantasy classic.

The following list is a balanced opinion of which players to target, the comments are important to acknowledge; ability, playing role, job security, cash generation & potential scoring output have an influence on the rank.

*Players on a Round 12 Bye not considered

1.Trent Bianco (Collingwood) MID/DEF $198K BE -5

Bianco was excellent in his AFL debut last week, he recorded 19 Disposals & 3 Marks for 71pts. He found plenty of ball in the half-forward part of the ground while shifting into a wing position at times in general play, with the Magpies holding onto the ball for extended periods of the game recently Bianco could benefit with a decent short to medium term fantasy return. At his BE (Break Eve), Bianco should be a priority target this week.

Season Ave: 71.0

2. Ronin O’Connor (Adelaide) MID $185K BE 9

O’Connor comes back in for his second AFL game, he recorded 8 Disposals & 8 Tackles in Round 9 for 49pts in limited game time. He is well suited to an inside midfield role, although he won’t likely be used at a high rate it should be enough to provide a decent salary bump. Sam Berry is sidelined & is in concussion protocol for Round 12, be mindful of this prior to trading in O’Connor. If he can hold his spot a decent ROI is likely.

Season Ave: 49.0

3. Luke Edwards (West Coast ) MID $170K BE 25

Luke Edwards will make his AFL debut in Round 12, he was selected at pick 52 in the 2020 AFL Draft. He has averaged 17.8 Disposals, 4.2 Marks & 1.7 Tackles from 6 games in the WAFL  this season. With the Eagles currently decimated with injuries Edwards may see a decent short term opportunity at AFL level.

Season Ave: N/A

4. Jay Rantall (Collingwood) MID $173K BE 22

Rantall comes back into the Collingwood team following his AFL debut in Round 6, he recorded juts 8 Disposals, 2 Marks & 1 Tackle against Essendon. The Magpies have hit a reset button this season which has seen 7 players make their AFL debut, opportunities will exist throughout the remainder of the season. Rantall could see decent midfield usage in Round 12, with the Magpies current ball control game style he could see a spike in fantasy output.

Season Ave: 29.0

5. Max Lynch (Collingwood) RUCK/FWD $172K BE 26

Max Lynch will return to the Collingwood team & could see decent ruck usage with Brodie Grundy sidelined with injury, the medium term outlook for a position in the AFL team for Lynch may not be that healthy but if you need to extract additional cash for upgrades over the Bye period without needing bench cover when Grundy returns then he is an option. Any type of decent fantasy output in the short term will be a benefit, his DPP flexibility is also a benefit.

Only consider if healthy bench cover.

Season Ave: N/A
