He has lost approximately 10kgs on the back of the injury & has been completing indoor sessions in the last month in a bid to regain full fitness Cleary added.
Richmond Senior Club Advisor Neil Balme said in early October Martin could see a change of role in 2022, his lighter weight would allow for more of an endurance type role rather than an explosive/impact type role.
“But if he keeps a bit of it off, he might be able to play even more in the midfield rather than just as a forward/mid.”

Fantasy Impact: Dustin Martin averaged 81.3pts from 16 games in 2021, he scored a season high 131pts in Round 1 against Carlton.
Returning to full fitness & a change to increase his midfield usage is a key to the fantasy output for Martin in 2022.
In 2017, Martin averaged 111.4pts running primarily though a midfield role.

Martin is expected to see high centre bounce usage, he recorded 67.2% of centre bounce usage from 16 games in 2021.
He is certainly a consideration in season long fantasy if the increase in midfield usage is confirmed over pre-season, ownership could be strong at Round 1 as a result.
That would also result in a rise in his ADP in single season draft leagues.
