Richmond national recruiting manager Matt Clarke provided an update on Judson Clarke post draft.
Clarke “come off an ACL, so he missed his bottom age year & he’s come through that really well.”
“He’s that linking-up, high-forward/midfield player that can actually use the ball pretty well”
“We sort of see him in Kane Lambert’s role long term,”
“He’s quick. He’s got really fast feet, so really good lateral to get in and out.” Matt Clarke said.

2022 AFL Fantasy: Jesse Motlop
Clarke averaged 17.6 Disposals, 4.6 Marks & 3.4 Tackles in the NAB League in 2021.
Fantasy Impact: Judson Clarke will provide a dynamic option for the Tigers across half-forward & eventually through the midfield, he has silky skills & is sharp around traffic.
He has a strong ability to hit targets with his left foot & can convert in front of goal.
The short term fantasy prospects for Clarke will be linked with his opportunities at AFL level, Richmond have shown a tendency to ensure that young draftees are well developed & are embedded in the game plan prior to making a debut.
The long term fantasy prospects are specifically linked to his role at the Tigers, if he develops well there is the possibility he can be used at a decent rate through the midfield which should correlate into a solid scoring output.
Clarke would be a consideration if he can secure a position in the best 22 at Richmond throughout 2022, it’s worth monitoring his progress over pre-season because there is the possibility he could develop quickly & see opportunities at AFL level.
He’s a pass in single season draft leagues, it’s worth being bullish on Clarke just beyond the early picks in dynasty leagues but the pay-off could be a while in the making with expected forward usage early in his career.
