Bazzo will step into his first pre-season at West Coast trying to develop his body & skills, he admits there is a fair bit of learning ahead of him.
“It’s a pretty good place to come and learn off probably two of the best key position defenders in the game at the moment,”
“Really excited just to get to know them and work under them. Still a lot of development to go, so I’ll just be like a sponge early on and try and take in as much as I can and see what works for them, see what doesn’t work for them and try to bring it into my game.” Bazzo said post-draft.

Bazzo averaged 10.6 Disposals, 3.9 Marks & 1.8 Tackles from 8 games in the WAFL Colts in 2021.
Fantasy Impact: Rhett Bazzo will add versatility as a key tall at West Coast, he was able to impact at both ends of the ground prior to being selected in the 2021 AFL Draft.
He reads the play well for intercept opportunities in defence & is strong in contested mark situations, he can also hit targets at a high rate.
The short term fantasy prospects for Bazzo appear to be limited, his first year at West Coast will provide plenty of development & time to put on size.
The longer term prospects will be directly linked to his role, any type of lock down key defender role & his output could be limited but as a play-off intercept defender his scoring output could be decent. A key forward role will likely provide inconsistent scoring.
Bazzo is a pass in season long fantasy likely across the season, in a development year his opportunities are likely to be minimal.
He’s also a pass in single season draft leagues, he’s a late option in dynasty leagues.
