Adelaide National Recruiting Manager Hamish Ogilvie provided an update post-draft.
“Zac is a feisty little player, at that stage of the draft the two boys were just too good not to take so we stayed true to our talent order.”
“Zac is a small forward, half-forward and midfielder, he played midfield with the Calder Cannons and senior footy with his local club.”
“He can get a lot of the ball and has real speed to get outside with his agility so it’s a speed/agility combo and again he was really high on our talent order.” Ogilvie said.
Taylor was interviewed on SENSA post-draft, he gave a quick snapshot on his preferred role.
“Probably a balance of both I think, probably a bit more outside (midfield).” Taylor said.

2022 AFL Fantasy: Arthur Jones
Taylor averaged 26.0 Disposals, 5.9 Marks & 4.1 Tackles from 7 games in the NAB League in 2021.
Fantasy Impact: Zac Taylor will add depth to the forward/midfield group at Adelaide, has excellent speed & makes quick decisive decisions.
He has excellent awareness in congestion & can accumulate disposals at a high rate, he can also play the small forward role at a high level.
The short term fantasy prospects for Taylor could be moderate, he has the potential to break through at AFL level in 2022 but that is likely through a small forward role.
The longer term prospects will be directly linked to his primary role, if he can run through a midfield role at a decent rate then his scoring output could be strong.
Taylor would be an option in season long fantasy if he can force his way into the Adelaide team, the Crows are still progressing through a rebuild which may present opportunities in 2022.
He’s likely a pass in single season draft leagues, he could be hit or miss in dynasty leagues with a midfield role likely required to provide consistent strong long term scoring, he’s an option just beyond the early selections.
