Burgoyne is the son of Peter who provided good insight for what is ahead for the new father/son recruit.

“Jase is still young, he’s pretty raw. I think his ceiling nobody knows.”

“I think he’ll be a mix between me and Shaun. He can play down forward, down back and in the midfield.”

“Put on 10-15kgs and it’s going to be a good career, I think.” Peter Burgoyne said post-draft.

2022 AFL Fantasy: Jackson Archer

Burgoyne averaged 28.8 Disposals, 5.9 Marks & 2.3 Tackles from 8 games in the SANFL U18s in 2021.

Fantasy Impact: Jase Burgoyne will add a speed dynamic to the Port Adelaide list, he’s an athletic type with good agility as well as highly competitive.

He has an ability to accumulate disposals at a high rate, he can also deliver the ball with precision.

The short term fantasy prospects for Burgoyne could be moderate only, he’s a very raw talent that needs to develop physically.

The longer term prospects could be healthy, a role through half-back or a wing could provide a strong scoring output.

Burgoyne would be a consideration in season long fantasy if he can develop at a fast rate & break into the Port Adelaide team, his opportunities however are likely limited.

He’s a pass in single season draft leagues, he’s worth targeting early in dynasty leagues well ahead of expected ADP. The payoff will likely be long term, his scoring output could be strong.
