The strong pre-season from Stephen Coniglio continues.
After battling injuries in the last 2 years the Giants midfielder has completed a full uninterrupted summer and is looking to return back to his 2019 form.
This according to GWS assistant coach Mark McVeigh who spoke with SportsdayWA this week.
“I think it’s been the first time in probably 2 or 3 years where he feels like he’s injury free throughout the pre-season,”
“He’s had some battles with his body that’s held him back and he hasn’t been able to complete the sessions that he’d like to.”
“But this pre-season has been completely different and he hasn’t missed a beat, we’ve noticed him really dominating at training especially through the midfield,”
“His intra club games amongst ourselves has been really strong, his game against the Swans last weekend was terrific.”

So we feel like he’s heading back to that direction, that 2019 sort of form before he was injured.”
“We again with him we’re really impressed, we’re just quietly letting him go along and doing his thing, he’s had some pressure relief with the other two captains added that’s taken a bit of pressure off around the footy club.”
“And you can tell with his probably body language and the way he’s approaching different things he’s got a new lease of life.”

“We expected a big pre-season from him, we got that.”
“But we expect a big-season.”
”He’s put himself in the right position to be able to do that.” McVeigh said.
