Luke Jackson Role

AFLRATINGS NEWS: There has been an update on the role for Luke Jackson while Sean Darcy is absent from the team. 

Darcy has been quite limited in his preparation for the 2025 season, he recently underwent ankle surgery due to an infection after spending some time in Doha as part of his recovery program from knee surgery at the end of the 2024 season.

Fremantle are yet to provide a timeline of Darcy’s return to play this season, he has lost significant weight after the knee surgery.

The Dockers have options to cover Darcy’s absence including starting Liam Reidy as the no.1 ruck.

Andrew Brayshaw stated this week (via WWOS) that they’re looking for Reidy to be that clear no.1 ruck while Darcy is absent. 

He added that Luke Jackson will remain in his role forward with pinch-hit opportunities at the ruck position. 

Darcy’s return will hopefully be available in the upcoming period.
