New Rules
6-6-6 start Positions
Centre clearances were again key, the one spare in defence if required will take some to establish following a centre bounce.
Game Notes: GWS Giants v Sydney
Kick-ins
Port Adelaide exited the goal square on nearly all attempts, the landing position was generally outside the 50m line. The Power tried to use the corridor at times but Adelaide were structurally set up well to defend it.
Game Notes: Collingwood v Melbourne
Adelaide were a little more conservative on kick-ins, as the JLT Series and the H&A season continues it is expected running out of the goal square will become more comfortable for players. If used correctly this is quite a dangerous rule/play to defend and the ball transition will likely be quick.

Todd Marshall
Looks smooth playing a key forward role, very clean when the ball hits the ground and works well in contested situations, could be in for a decent season.
Billy Frampton
Decent in the Ruck, is a long way behind Ryder & Lycett still, but has developed.
Zak Butters
Attack on the ball is first class, spent time pushing up on to the wing in general play, works well in contested situations, should see him a fair bit in 2019.
Conner Rozee
Hurt his shoulder after being tackled but continued to play through it, impacted ok, attended centre bounces.
AFL DFS: 2018 Melbourne Volume Report
Xavier Duursma
Was outstanding, played a half-back role, often was the player to decide on which direction play went for the Power, looked extremely comfortable, don’t see any reason not to play him instantly.
Riley Bonner
Has developed quite well, has decent speed through the middle of the ground, played in a defensive attacking role.
Joel Garner
Played in a small defensive role.
Willem Drew
Attended a high number of centre bounces, looked right at home in the midfield, found enough of the ball, based on his pre-season and play in practice matches it would seem he will line-up Round 1.
