Carlton midfielder Zac Fisher sustained an ankle injury in Round 1, the injury has been diagnosed as a syndesmosis injury.

Fisher won’t undergo surgery, however he will be inactive in a boot to assist in recovery in the short term.

“He’ll be in a boot for 2-4 weeks and then we’ll get him going.”

“He should be very close to resuming when we get going. He might play or it might be in the first few weeks after we resume.” Carlton Director of High Performance, Andrew Russell.

Fisher recorded 17 Disposals & 3 Marks in Round 1 against Richmond.

AFL FANTASY TAKE

With the AFL currently on delay Fisher is likely to be available for a Round 2 return, a delay beyond a June 1 return to football for all teams will further enhance the chances of Fisher playing in Round 2.

Fisher is not a consideration for AFL Fantasy classic.
