Robbie Fox will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks, he injured his finger in a practice match against GWS last week. 

Fox ruptured the tendon off his middle finger, subsequently he underwent surgery this week.

Fox will have his finger in a splint for 6 weeks, he will resume shortly on a modified fitness program until he is given clearance to resume ball handling skills training. 

Fox played 14 games for the Swans last season.

AFL FANTASY TAKE

Fox averaged 42.5pts from 14 games last season, he scored a season high 59pts against Fremante in Round 13.

The loss of Fox will open up an opportunity early in the season at Sydney, Braeden Campbell is already expected to be in the frame for selection at Round 1 along with Errol Gulden. Will Gould may now be in the frame for his AFL debut.
