Lachie Neale could be set to be targeted by a cooler this week.
Nth Melbourne senior coach David Noble was full of praise for Neale after his strong pre-season and recording 41 disposals against Essendon.
Noble acknowledged that Neale would be a significant part of the planning for the Kangaroos this week against Brisbane at the Gabba.
“I snuck down and had a look at the (Brisbane) game live on Saturday, look he’s in ripping nick so he’s going to certainly have some discussion (in match committee this week),”
“They’ve certainly got a lot of quality players across the field but he’s going to take up a lot of our time this week.”
When asked specifically if he prefers a hard lock down on opposition players or a cooler type of role Noble provided further insight into his thinking currently as senior coach.

“We haven’t gone to a (strict) lockdown in the last 12 months.”
“I probably feel like you lose a little bit too much, I think having someone like Hugh (Greenwood) in there that can do a bit of a dual role,”
“Jy (Simpkin) had some high quality roles with that last year, his on and off type of role.”
“I think you need someone in your armoury that can cool there’s no doubt that can maybe jump on someone for 10 minutes or 15 minutes a quarter,”

“So we’ll probably find a combination of that on/off role I reckon.” he said.
Noble also added that “Tristan Xerri is really developing as a nice ruckman”.
