Fantasy Wrap: Round 9

Order has been restored & Tom Mitchell (AF: 149, SC: 155) found his mojo again providing joy to many fantasy coaches, for those that have the Mitchell & Jack Macrae (AF: 144, SC: 177) combo your weekend was especially sweet.

For those chasing overall ranking the lead up to the Bye weeks are very important for team balance, a good spread of premium players should be able to get you through relatively unscathed. For the fantasy coaches in serious contention these are crucial times, this is when the real season starts.

Round 9 Notable Performances (Good & Bad):

Rory Laird (AF: 102, SC: 102) handled wet conditions quite well recording 28 Disposals, it was an equal season low 4 Marks but given the conditions his output was more than satisfactory. Toby McLean (AF: 101, SC: 100) recorded 10 Tackles on Friday night, Marcus Bontempelli (AF: 92, SC: 120) was assessed for a hip complaint during the game.

After an extremely slow start Todd Goldstein (AF: 107, SC: 112) wound up to record a season high 17 Disposals & 6 Tackles, Jarrad Waite (AF: 119, SC: 129) recorded a season high 4 Goals. Only 1 player recorded 100pts or more for the Giants & that was Dylan Shiel (AF: 107, SC: 107), Ben Jacobs (AF: 78, SC: 96) restricted Callan Ward (AF: 49, SC: 64) to an equal season low 19 Disposals.

Jarrod Witts (AF: 125, SC: 129) found the wet and slippery conditions to his liking, he recorded 43 Hit Outs & 22 Disposals in Shanghai. Despite a slowdown in the second half Tom Rockliff (AF: 106, SC: 102) recorded 26 Disposals & 7 Tackles, Robbie Gray (AF: 61, SC: 67) has been impacted the most by the Rockliff midfield time spending most of his time forward on Saturday.

Zach Merrett (AF: 108, SC: 118) recorded 32 Disposals against the Cats on Saturday, it is the first game he has exceeded 30 Disposals since Round 5. The patience must be wearing thin for some fantasy coaches waiting for Patrick Dangerfield (AF: 105, SC: 114) to put up his high ceiling games, pre-season injuries cannot be underestimated.

Jake Lloyd (AF: 163, SC: 173) put a smile on every single one of his owners on Saturday night, he recorded a career high 41 Disposals & 15 Marks. George Hewett (AF: 88, SC: 85) followed Nat Fyfe (AF: 97, SC: 101) for most of the night in Sydney, Ed Langdon (AF: 102, SC: 102) continues to put up decent numbers.

For those fantasy coaches that started without or traded out Jack Billings (AF: 70, SC: 57) early congrats, it has been a tough year for Billings owners. The consistent season of Luke Dunstan (AF: 96, SC: 102) continued against the Magpies, Brodie Grundy (AF: 135, SC: 109) continued his great form.

Patrick Cripps (AF: 140, SC: 152) recorded 31 Disposals and a season high 8 Marks against Melbourne, Matthew Kreuzer (AF: 77, SC: 60) was destroyed in the Ruck by Max Gawn (AF: 105, SC: 121). Clayton Oliver (AF: 72, SC: 88) recorded 26 Disposals, 0 Marks and a season low 3 Tackles against the Blues.

That is now 3 quality games in a row for Dayne Zorko (AF: 134, SC: 121), hopefully he can manage to avoid a tag or work through it for the remainder of the year. The start to the game by Tom Mitchell (AF: 149, SC: 155) was something to witness, the end of the game for James Sicily (AF: 71, SC: 77) was forgetful as he was moved forward.

Jack Darling (AF: 151, SC: 181) is having one season to remember, the early panic from fantasy coaches watching Elliot Yeo (AF: 110, SC: 113) soon evaporated as he put on a second half clinic. Dustin Martin (AF: 73, SC: 103) had a second half to forget as he finished with 26 Disposals.

Good Luck for Round 10
