Good news for Travis Boak owners with the Port Adelaide midfielder expected to return in Round 17, Boak withdrew from Round 16 just 5 minutes prior to game time with back spasms.

Scott Lycett hasn’t appeared on the Port Adelaide injury list post Round 16, he was assessed early in the game against Adelaide with a knee concern.

Positive news for Max Gawn today, the crutches are long gone and he could be headed for a quick return this week.

“It’s fine.. I just missed out (playing Round 16).. I was pretty keen to play” Max Gawn on his Ankle injury.

Melbourne key forward Tom McDonald will likely miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury, the Demons will have at least one other forced change with Marty Hore suffering a broken collarbone on Sunday.

There were no suspensions from the MRO in Round 16.

Round 16 Injuries

Carlton midfielder Patrick Cripps will be assessed again this week, he has missed the last 2 games with a foot injury.

Carlton defender Caleb Marchbank will miss the remainder of the season with a neck injury.

Lachie Whitfield will likely return for the Giants this week, he has missed the last 4 games with a broken collarbone.

GWS Giants: “He should (play).. he trained really well on Thursday (last week).. but then was just a bit sore (post training).. just generally.. I’ll say he’s a certain starter, but he needs to get through training” Wayne Campbell on Lachie Whitfield via @1116sen.

Josh Kelly will likely be sidelined for the short term with a calf injury, the Giants have been ultra conservative with injuries this season.

Dyson Heppell is questionable for Round 17, he has been managing a foot injury for several weeks.

“(I’ve been) carrying (the injury).. for a while now.. just didn’t quite recover they way I would have liked.. (I’m) still managing it now” Dyson Heppell via Fox Footy.
