Carlton key forward Charlie Curnow sustained a fracture to his patella in a non football related accident, he underwent surgery on Wednesday and is expected to be sidelined for 3-4 months.
Curnow was already in recovery from a right knee injury sustained less than 2 months ago, he was expected to resume running prior to Christmas.
It is expected Curnow will miss all pre-season games.
“The recovery time for a fractured knee cap is typically 3-4 months. This will delay his return to running until the New Year, which means it is unlikely he will be available for our pre-season games in late-February and early-March” Carlton Head of Football Brad Lloyd via CFC Media.
Curnow averaged 12.3 Disposals, 4.5 Marks & 1.6 Goals from 11 games for the Blues in 2019.
