Adelaide defender Wayne Milera has been sidelined with a foot injury, he will undergo surgery on Friday.
Milera is set to miss 2 months of the AFL season, the injury has been described as a stress fracture of the fifth metatarsal.

“Imaging has shown Wayne has a stress fracture of the fifth metatarsal that requires surgery to ensure the best possible outcome.”

Milera has averaged 15.0 Disposals, 3.5 Marks & 1.0 Tackle from 2 games in 2020.

AFL FANTASY TAKE
The injury is not ideal for Milera but it may open the door for Brodie Smith to head back to a defensive role, Smith has struggled to accumulate in the midfield in the opening 2 games of the 2020 season despite opportunities at centre bounces.
The Crows have started poorly under first year coach Matthew Nicks, there is the possibility that player roles may change over the course of the season which may deliver inconsistent fantasy scoring.
Milera averaged 51.5pts from his opening 2 games of the 2020 season.
