Injury Update: Elliot Yeo

West Coast midfielder Elliot Yeo has been shut down for the remainder of the 2020 season, he has not played since Round 11 against Carlton.

Yeo has been struggling with osteitis pubis for several weeks, the Eagles made the call on Wednesday to rule him out for the remainder of this season in order to prepare for the 2021 season.

“Unfortunately with Elliot we’ve reached a bit of a stalemate in terms of the progress with his OP”

“We haven’t been able to elevate his training to the level required to give him the chance to play.”

“The pain levels for Elliot are too great, and the medical advice is we’re better off taking a long-term approach, which we need to do.” Eagles GM of Football Craig Vozzo. 

Yeo averaged 19.2 Disposals, 2.2 Marks & 5.6 Tackles in 2020.

AFL FANTASY TAKE

Yeo averaged 71.2pts from 10 games in 2020, he was used at 82.5% of CBA’s over the same period. 

The injury updates on Yeo over the 2021 pre-season will be critical to follow not only for Yeo but for any potential disruption to the West Coast midfield mix entering Round 1. 

A fully fit Yeo will be a consideration in AFL Fantasy classic at a discounted salary (based on his 2020 output).
