2021 Fantasy: Round 5 Top 5 Trade Targets Under $300K

Round 5 of the 2021 H&A season begins on Thursday night, @aflratingsPete ranks the Top 5 Trade Targets Under $300K in AFL Fantasy classic.

The following list is a balanced opinion of which players to target, the comments are important to acknowledge; ability, playing role, job security, cash generation & potential scoring output have an influence on the rank.

1.Lachie Jones (Port Adelaide) DEF $261K BE 12

Lachie Jones was impressive in his AFL debut last week, he recorded 17 Disposals & 6 Marks on his way to 68pts. With the long term injuries to Zak Butters & Xavier Duursma it is likely that Jones is set for an extended period in the team, he is likely to generate a significant amount of profit while delivering a decent scoring output.

There’s still time to jump on.

Season Ave: 68.0

2. Finlay Macrae (Collingwood) MID/FWD $234K BE 34

Macrae will make his AFL debut in Round 5, he was selected at pick 19 in the 2020 AFL Draft. He averaged 16.9 Disposals in the 2019 NAB League, he also averaged 12.0 Uncontested Possessions. It is expected Macrae will play as an outside midfield/forward type early in his AFL career, his scoring ability should be pretty decent.

If Macrae can perform early, his position in the Collingwood team should strong.

Season Ave: N/A

3. Deven Robertson (Brisbane) MID/FWD $266K BE -1

It was a quiet day for Robertson in Round 4, conditions at Mars Stadium in Ballarat definitely did not help as he scored just 43pts. The return of Jarrod Berry did reduce the centre bounce usage in Round 4 for Robertson, he was used at 28.0% of centre bounces in Round 3 & 4.5% of centre bounces in Round 4.

Robertson still has a healthy BE, he is still a target.

Season Ave: 68.0

4. Josh Treacy (Fremantle) RUCK/FWD $190K BE 4

Treacy made his AFL debut in Round 4, he recorded 10 Disposals & 5 Marks for 56pts. Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir was quite positive midweek on the role Treacy can play within the team, his role should be as a lead up forward who can apply pressure. Longmuir was also positive playing 3 key position players forward, which long term should Treacy, Matt Taberner & Rory Lobb.

Treacy should have a decent run of games early in his career, he should generate a decent amount of profit.

Season Ave: 56.0

5. Miles Bergman (Port Adelaide) FWD $227K BE -5

With the long term injuries to Zak Butters & Xavier Duursma a position back in the Port Adelaide 22 is a possibility for Bergman, Lachie Jones is likely to remain across half-back while Dan Houston moved into the midfield at times last week. If Bergman can find his way back into the team he should be able to generate a significant amount of profit.

It’s not time to forget about Bergman just yet.

Season Ave: 57.5
