Ollie Hollands Role

AFLRATINGS NEWS: Ollie Hollands could be set for a role adjustment in 2025.

Having spent most of the early part of his career in an outside/wing role Hollands has been training in a new position at the start of pre-season. 

During match simulation Hollands has been trialled across half-back, this includes moving back to the D50 line and assisting will ball transition.

Carlton senior coach Michael Voss confirmed a role adjustment for Hollands in December. 

The Blues selected Jagga Smith at pick 3 in the 2024 AFL Draft, he is expected to play through the midfield with time spent on the outside. 

Sam Docherty has been spending time on a wing during pre-season training, Blake Acres has been limited at pre-season training after undergoing back surgery in October.   

Zac Williams was moved to a small forward role during the 2024 AFL season, he recently stated that he’s likely to remain forward this season.

Hollands was selected at pick 11 in the 2022 AFL Draft by Carlton, he averaged 14.0 disposals, 3.8 marks and 3.4 tackles from 23 games in 2024. 

There appears to be a few role adjustments for Carlton on the horizon in 2025, Jack Silvagni is being trialled as a defender while Brodie Kemp looks to solidify his position as a forward over pre-season. 

Voss is looking to add flexibility to the squad, he has stated that players can always revert to their original position if required.
