Jaidyn Stephenson has been sidelined from pre-season training with glandular fever, his condition is considered as mild.
Stephenson is expected to return to the club next week.
Stephenson averaged 25.6 Disposals, 6.6 Marks & 1.7 Goals from 14 games in 2019, he has kicked 37 career Goals from 40 games in 2 years for the Magpies.
AFL FANTASY TAKE
The illness shouldn’t impact too heavily the pre-season ahead for Stephenson, he averaged 80.9pts from 14 games in 2019 & 64.6pts from 26 games in 2018.
Stephenson plays a high half-forward role which can be difficult to maintain consistency, a move further up the ground in 2020 could see his average climb again.
Stephenson is currently a pass in classic unless there is a forecast significant role change in 2020 over the pre-season, he’s a mid-late round draft selection which many will ignore but in his 3rd year there could be further upside possible.
