Injury Update: David Mundy

David Mundy has been sidelined from pre-season training after fracturing his fibula, the injury was non-football related and occurred while cycling with his children two weeks ago.

At this stage his return to training is unknown, it is expected he won’t be able to put any weight on his leg for at least 4 weeks.

“David is a professional and we are sure he will do everything he can to get his body in the best shape for 2020”

“Given the type of injury, at this stage there are no set time frames for David’s return to football.” Fremantle GM of Football, Peter Bell

Mundy averaged 22.9 Disposals & 2.7 Marks from 22 games for the Dockers in 2019, he has played in 98.5% of games since the beginning of the 2017 H&A season.

While Mundy averaged only 80.5pts in 2019 his injury if long term will impact the midfield rotation for the Dockers.

Already thin in the midfield coach Justin Longmuir may have to rely on his younger group of midfield talent earlier than expected in 2020, Andrew Brayshaw is one player that could benefit from increased midfield usage.

The Dockers will be one team to watch over the pre-season for opportunities in prime scoring positions.
