Essendon new recruit Mitch Hibberd was carried from the ground during training today with a knee injury, after being assessed by the medical staff a further assessment was carried out.
Late this afternoon Essendon Media has reported that Hibberd has been cleared of serious damage, the clubs is still awaiting results of scans prior to setting a path for rehabilitation.

Hibberd averaged 24.3 Disposals & 6.9 Tackles in the VFL in 2019, he played 4 games for Nth Melbourne averaging 11.8 Disposals, 2.5 Marks & 2.0 Tackles in 2017.

Hibberd is a genuine target for AFL Fantasy classic coming in at a salary under $200K, if he can complete the remainder of the pre-season with little interruption he is considered a chance to play in Round 1.
Hibberd was given a second chance at AFL level after being selected in the Rookie Draft by the Bombers, there is the potential he could be utilised in a midfield rotation throughout the season.
