Dyson Heppell has been sidelined with an ankle injury, the incident occurred at training on Friday morning.

The injury has been described as a fractured ankle, he will be out for an extended period and will undergo surgery.

“Unfortunately, Dyson sustained the injury when tackled towards the end of our training session on Friday morning”

“It’s an unrelated injury to his foot, but we immediately had the area scanned which identified a fracture in the left ankle.”

“It’s very disappointing for both Dyson and the club. Currently, it is difficult to put a time frame on a return prior to him having surgery, but we remain hopeful he will return to the field this season.” Bombers GM of football Dan Richardson.

Heppell recorded 17 Disposals & 2 Tackles in Round 2.

The injury to Heppell couldn’t have come at a worse time, he has battled back from a foot injury over several months, he played mostly on the outside last week for the Bombers.

Heppell wasn’t used at CBA’s in Round 2, he scored 52pts.
