Fantasy: The role for Wayne Milera in 2021

Wayne Milera will continue to add versatility to the Crows line-up in 2021, limited to just 2 games last season due to a foot injury he was back on the training track today.

“He actually joined in full training today, actually for the first time since we’ve come back which was really pleasing” Crows assistant coach Nathan Van Berlo revealed on Sportsday today.

Milera was set to be used in a variety of roles last season, Van Berlo who is the midfield coach at the Crows even suggested an opportunity through the midfield this year but the versatility in roles will be his main asset.

“He can play half-back, half-forward & he adds a different dynamic to the midfield as well, I’ll certainly be trying to steal him if I can.” Van Berlo added.

AFL FANTASY TAKE

Milera was limited to just 2 games in 2020, he scored a season high 63pts in Round 1.

In 2019 Milera averaged 76.5pts, he averaged 18.2 Disposals, 5.4 Marks & 2.9 Tackles.

We haven’t seen over an extended period just how Crows coach Matthew Nicks will utilise Milera, based on his previous fantasy scoring history there is value based on his salary at Round 1.

Milera is certainly a consideration for selection at Round 1 in AFL Fantasy classic, if he spends the majority of pre-season across half-back then his value likely increases.

You may be able to sneak through Milera as a mid-late round selection in 10 team standard draft leagues.
