Jay Lockhart will be sidelined following surgery, he sustained a testicular injury against the Bulldogs on Monday in the AAMI Community Series.
The injury was described as “pretty serious” from Demons senior coach Simon Goodwin post game.
There is no current time frame for a return for Lockhart.

Goodwin provided further details in his post game press conference on Monday.
“He went into a marking contest and copped a knee,”
“That’s unfortunate for Jay, as he’s worked pretty hard at his footy over the summer.”
“He’s going to miss a little bit, how long, we’re not sure.” Goodwin.
Lockhart played 10 games in 2020.

Lockhart averaged 38pts from 10 games in 2020, he scored a season high 55pts against Collingwood in Round 12.
The current time frame for a return is unknown for Lockhart, if he were to miss significant games then an opportunity would be available.
Goodwin was very complimentary on Jake Bowey in his post game presser, he may be one player to keep an eye on for potential games.
