“Jarrod has suffered a rupture of his ACL during that contest in the third quarter on Friday night and will miss the remainder of the 2021 season,”

“It’s unfortunate for Jarrod, but we know he’ll continue to lead the club as he has done in recent years.” Suns GM Football Jon Haines.

AFL FANTASY TAKE

Witts averaged 96.5pts from his opening 2 games of the 2021 season, hopefully he can make a full recovery over the next 12 months.

His injury does put Gold Coast in a difficult situation in the short term with Zac Smith & Matt Conroy also sidelined through injury, it is expected Chris Burgess will see an opportunity at the ruck position until Smith is healthy enough to return in 3-4 weeks.

Expect some variety over the coming weeks from Suns coach Stuart Dew in an attempt to cover off on centre clearances.
