“We had some scans done yesterday and got those results back before he saw the surgeon today.”

“We’re expecting him to have an operation on Thursday to have that joint stabilised. It’s disappointing for Stephen. We think he’ll miss around eight weeks depending on how quickly he progresses.” Giants Head of Medical Cullan Ball.

The Giants are likely to provide updates on the rehabilitation progress for Coniglio in the upcoming period.

AFL FANTASY TAKE

Coniglio averaged 88.5pts from his opening 2 games of the season.

The injury to Coniglio & Matt DeBoer through the midfield will open up opportunities in a prime fantasy scoring position, expect Tom Green to be used more as an inside mid with Tanner Bruhn likely to get more opportunities at some stage.

Expect Tim Taranto to see a spike in centre bounce usage, Giants senior coach Leon Cameron may also turn to Callan Ward to provide leadership at clearances.

Josh Kelly is another that could see a spike in centre bounce usage.

Coniglio is a trade-out in AFL Fantasy classic.
