“Although we were initially optimistic that Josh may be able to avoid surgery, subsequent scans have confirmed the best way to manage Josh in the short-to-medium term is to have a full shoulder reconstruction,”
“This surgery will be completed tomorrow. At this stage, we expect Josh to miss the next 3-4 months.” Bulldogs head of sports medicine, Chris Bell.
Dunkley will need to regain fitness post surgery during his rehabilitation period, he will be in a race to be fully fit for finals this season.
AFL FANTASY TAKE
Dunkley has averaged 115.5pts from 6 games this season, he has averaged 30.3 Disposals.
The Bulldogs have excellent midfield depth, expect Adam Treloar to see an increase in centre bounce usage while Bailey Smith could also be moved back inside which could open up a permanent wing spot for Lachie Hunter.
