2022 Fantasy: Nth Melbourne Training Notes

Temperature in the low 20’s with a very light breeze greeted the Kangaroos players for Friday match simulation.

A total of three periods were played, min drills were completed prior to match sim started and also once it was completed.

Jy Simpkin was completing a running session early with his right quad strapped and did not participate, Nth Melbourne later confirming it is just a leg cork.

AFL News on Twitter @aflratings Early concerns also for Jason Horne-Francis
as he went off the ground prior to match sim with what looked to be a leg issue,
he returned shortly after and completed everything.

The Kangaroos also confirming Phoenix Spicer, Aiden Bonar, Flynn Perez, Jed Anderson and Ben Cunnington did not play.

Spicer did some early leg work then completed a stack of running, he looks to have developed significantly over the pre-season.

Teams were eventually split with a mix of talent distributed across both teams.

Luke Davies-Uniacke (Pink team) vs Tristan Xerri, Will Phillips,
Hugh Greenwood & Jason Horne-Francis (Blue team).

Aaron Hall lined up across half-back, a handful of errors early was levelled out later in the game with excellent ball distribution.

Jack Ziebell was the leader in defence alongside Hall, he kept his defensive team in shape on-ground and also from the sidelines with instruction.

Kicks Ins – Luke McDonald & Matt McGuinness were amongst players from both teams to distribute the ball out of defence.

Cameron Zurhaar was imposing across half-forward while Nick Larkey is going to be a difficult match-up all season for opponents with his strong contested marking.

Jaidyn Stephenson was used through the midfield at times while Josh Goater was all class with his opportunities.

Notable:

Tarryn Thomas was elite and on a different level to most.

Jason Horne-Francis had his opportunities through the midfield but plenty happened when he played forward of the ball.
