AFL News: Josh Dunkley could be set to continue his split role.
Western Bulldogs senior coach Luke Beveridge provided a strong indication that may be the case today.
Dunkley was used at 23.3% of centre bounces in Round 7 against Essendon, he was used at 48.0% of centre bounces last week spending 66% of game time forward against Port Adelaide.

He was used at 60.2% of centre bounces between Rounds 1-3, between Rounds 5-8 he was used at 44.5% of centre bounces.
Tom Liberatore has seen an increase in centre bounces recently, he has been used at 57.1% of centre bounces between Rounds 5-8.
Marcus Bontempelli has also been used forward across the season, the Bulldogs have been without Josh Bruce all year as he nears the end of his recovery from an ACL injury.

Beveridge provided an update firstly on Marcus Bontempelli and then Dunkley at his press conference on Wednesday.
“The mix of his (Bontempelli) forward/mid play definitely a few weeks ago started to be more heavily loaded with some forward play,”
“And I think we found a better balance the weeks previous.”

“And then it allowed Josh Dunkley, Dunks played really really well kicked 3 goals against Essendon,”
“So that’s in the mix as well with Dunks being able to play a little bit of that deeper forward stuff because of his height and his strength and his want for the contest as well.” he said.
Beveridge also added “it’s likely” Bontempelli will continue his mid/forward role against Collingwood this week.
