AFLRATINGS NEWS: West Coast will proceed with a different game style under new senior coach Andrew McQualter.

Speaking recently after his introduction at West Coast McQualter has been quick to set the expectation that the style will be different and exciting under his regime.

McQualter has referenced the current youth on the playing list and the want to add layers over a period of time with an emphasis on the fundamentals of the game. 

The Eagles will embark on a front-half game style under McQualter with a view to attack and retain the ball inside F50 with relentless pressure while adding an extra layer to be defensively strong. 

McQualter has stated that he’ll take his experiences from Richmond and Melbourne to form a new style which will be unique and suit the playing list.

The Eagles won 5 games and finished 16th on the AFL ladder in 2024 with a percentage of 68.1%, they won 4 games at Optus Stadium and 1 game Blundstone Arena.
