Harley Reid Role

AFLRATINGS NEWS: West Coast senior coach Andrew McQualter has provided an update on the role for Harley Reid in 2025. 

McQualter stated on Monday that Reid will definitely begin the upcoming season playing through the midfield. 

Reid is heading into his second pre-season with a new game plan which will be an adjustment but McQualter is confident the coaching staff will devise a plan for him to succeed.

He added that a secondary role is currently open and will evolve with Reid having the ability to play across multiple lines. 

McQualter also said that contingency plans will be implemented for opposition attention but it is also expected Reid will work his way through that. 

Reid averaged 18.5 disposals, 2.3 marks and 4.0 tackles from 20 games in 2024 (AFL Fantasy Ave: 66.7).

He was the overwhelming Rising Star favourite before being suspended in Round 12.
